Mr. Wellmans experience includes: · Functioning as Alexian Brothers Hospital Network interim CIO where he developed and implemented portions of 5 year strategy to improve information systems function as an enabler for patient safety and quality of care delivery. He led the successful implementation of Meditech across a multi-hospital integrated delivery network. The implementation included process standardization across multiple facilities and the implementation of infrastructure to support the Meditech implementation. · An Angel Investor in Status One Healthcare Solutions a disease management startup firm sold to American Healthways. He was also a Member of the Board of Directors. ProVentive Healthcare a 2nd generation disease management startup. Invest-Credit a financial services firm providing loans to entrepreneurs in Eastern Europe · Vice President of First Consulting Group responsible for information technology outsourcing transactions. He improved information service performance including improved system availability, improved delivery of desktop devices, improved responsiveness to customer calls and improved on-time; on budget project delivery. He was also interim CIO in two client accounts with responsibility for establishing information systems strategy, transforming the information systems organization including improving organizational performance and achieving on-time, on-budget project results. · Chief Information Officer for CSC Index where he: · Aligned individual business unit technology ambitions with corporation’s business objectives. · Restructured corporation’s technology infrastructure to support business globalization, promote business agility, improve technology reliability/performance, and reduce operating costs by $5 million. · Expanded technology infrastructure to meet corporation’s growth agenda, by integrating new offices and business acquisitions. · Implemented performance measurement information system in support of consultant productivity and margin accountability. · Participated in select consulting engagements · Chief Information Officer for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA where he was responsible for integrating several information services groups into a single division and for enterprise-wide information systems across the metropolitan Boston area campus. · Represented the Institute in numerous Harvard University and Harvard Medical School forums. · Transformed I/S organization from low performing function that implemented 2 - 3 systems per year to high performance team that implemented 23 major systems/networks and 20 major system enhancements in first 30 months in position. · Restructured I/S financial management processes resulting in I/S cost reductions of $1 million/ year. · Lead I/S long range planning effort resulting in I/S strategy aligned with corporate strategic plan. · Assistant Vice President, Administrative Affairs for Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center, Chicago, IL where he was responsible for managing internal consultancy, corporate network and corporate patient care information systems. · Lead successful implementation of $21 million information system that replaced core patient care, financial and network systems throughout corporation. · Provided development support for eight major clinical information systems. · Positioned internal consultancy group as primary change agent for corporate wide continuous quality improvement efforts in two hospitals, a managed care company, a home health organization and a university. Efforts resulted in transformed organizational culture and renewed commitment of employees to corporation after downsizings. · Supported over 300 clinical and administrative improvement efforts.
