Mike has also developed a white paper on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) that was offered at the 2009 HIMSS conference and is available through this website. Mike provides a summary and analysis of the legislation and suggest ways to insure you qualify for the incentive provisions if you have begun to implement the required technologies and how to begin the needed actions if you have not begun implementation. 

Tom Shubnell has authored a book which provides a flexible and useful guide to implementation project management. His approach is both practical and effective. “The Art of Installation and The Science of Implementation” contains over 250 pages of useful tips, techniques, and tools for both veteran and novice project managers. Alton Brantley, M.D., Ph.D. has published an article in HealthLeaders IT on "Fixing the Medical Information Problem". Leo van der Reis, M.D. has published a paper titled “Unstructured Search, Homeland Defense and Health Care; A Different Approach”  The national communications network being built to exchange homeland security information among local, state and federal government agencies also could host the national health information network. The authors argue that health care information technology is a national security issue. That's because reliable communications between medical facilities, police and fire, and all other emergency agencies is a requisite for survival. The paper was published by The Quincy Foundation for Medical Research-Charitable Trust.
